By Association: Kabylie, racines et ailes

(Paris)–We, the association Kabylie Racines et Ailes, strongly condemn the ongoing imprisonment of individuals for their opinions in Algeria, a grave injustice that has persisted for years. Activists, journalists, writers, and ordinary citizens continue to be arrested simply for expressing their ideas, sharing their beliefs, or exercising their right to free speech.

This situation saddens and appalls us. Behind every arrest are families forced to live in fear, uncertainty, and isolation. Repression affects people of all ages and from every region, disrupting lives, silencing voices, and suffocating public debate. Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right, not a crime.

We call for the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience and for the full respect of their fundamental rights and freedoms. We demand an end to arbitrary prosecutions and the protection of civil and political liberties for all citizens. Our appeal is both clear and urgent.

We also call for the implementation of concrete and enforceable measures:

● The Algerian authorities must immediately release all individuals detained for peacefully expressing their opinions and halt all judicial proceedings based solely on freedom of expression.

● Judicial institutions must reexamine these cases transparently, under the supervision of independent observers and human rights organizations.

● International organizations and foreign governments must intensify diplomatic pressure and demand access for human rights defenders to detainees.

● Independent media outlets and civil society organizations must be protected, supported, and allowed to operate freely.

● Mechanisms for justice and reparations must be established for victims and their families, along with guarantees that such violations will never happen again.

Today, we urge citizens, associations, institutions, and all defenders of human dignity to sign and share this petition. Now is the time to act before more lives are shattered by injustice and repression. The stronger our collective voice becomes, the greater our impact will be on those in power.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who stands with this cause. Together, we will continue to defend freedom of expression, human dignity, and justice until the rights of all are fully restored.
