(Paris, France) –Today, October 19th, 2025, Kabylia’s Self-Determination Movement held in Paris a convention at 7 pm to determine whether to declare Kabylia’s independence or to adjourn it.

However, activists who couldn’t participate in- person had a chance to attend this historic event remotely through the zoom platform.

All members belong to the MAK’s coordinations: Some were from different parts of France, others were from Kabylia, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Canada and the United States.

During this meeting each delegate of each coordination forwarded solemnly the results of the will of each member. For technical reasons, the vote process took place a week ago, and each coordination organized its own convention.

Therefore, a “YES” for a Unilateral Declaration of Independence has been issued by a unanimous decision. This is a new milestone in the peaceful fight of Kabylians to recover their independence, after the “Renaissance Declaration of the Kabylian State ”, which was enacted in New York, at United Nations Plaza, on April 20th, 2024 by Kabylia provisional president in exile, Mr. Ferhat Mehenni.

Right after this positive result, Kabylia’s Prime minister Mr. Hanafi Ferhouh highlighted that the next step is the validation of this decision by the Kabylian Parliament to become a bill,  on October 24th, 2024.

The convention was ended after Mr. Ferhat Mehenni gave a concise speech, in which he thanked Kabylia’s self-determination activists for trusting him, he was enthralled by activists’ support, and signaled his willingness to pursue the struggle for an international recognition of the Kabylian state.

The independence declaration is scheduled for 14th December, 2025, in Europe.
