( Paris, France)–The French Court–Cour d’Appel de Paris, Pôle 7– postponed for the  second time the verdict  related to Mr. Aksel Bellabbacci that should be made public today, April 30th, 2025.

The defendant, Aksel Bellabbaci, is wanted by the Algerian military regime, and is seeking his extradition from France. The Plaintiff is accusing him to be the mastermind of burning Kabylia and killing Djamel Ben Smail in 2021.

The proceedings began on September 11, 2024, however, the French Court  requested from the plaintiffs more evidence. Thus, another proceeding was scheduled on December 18th, 2024, and the verdict  was set to be pronounced  on April 2nd, 2025.

Kabylians were waiting for the due date, nonetheless  the Court postponed the verdict  for vacation reason as his attorney Gilles-Willian Goldnadel  stated. As a consequence, a second date was scheduled to pronounce the verdict  which is April 30, 2025. And, surprisingly, the due date was again postponed for unknown time and without mentioning the reason, according to his attorney.

The French  judiciary system, contrary to the Algerian which is a subservient system, is known for its independence, fairness and impartiality. Nevertheless, this slew of verdict deferring without any motive  is becoming  a  real concern  regarding the  integrity of the French legal system.

Given the recent political turmoil  between Algiers and Paris, Aksel Bellabaci’s case is exploited for  political purposes, and this is unfair for the defendant.

Aksel Bellabaci is a peaceful  political activist and an adviser of Ferhat Mehenni– Kabylia Self-determination Movement President in exile.

In summer 2021, the Algerian criminal regime classified the MAK movement–Kabylia Self-determination Movement as a terrorist organization without any proof of violence, solely to quell the aspiration of Kabylia people for independence. To do so, the Algerian brutal regime burned Kabylia, which left  over 250 dead, and a devastated fauna and flora. Then, it commanded and orchestrated the killing of Djamal Ben Smail.

At the beginning, the Algerian dictatorship accused  Morocco, Israel, and the MAK movement.

Now, to tarnish and smear  MAK movement, Algeria dropped allegations of the involvement of Morocco and Israel; however, it is targeting  a prominent figure of the MAK  movement–Aksel Bellabbaci, an easy prey, insofar as he hasn’t granted  political asylum as Mr. The President Ferhat Mehenni.
