(Paris, France)–While the Algerian terrorist regime is attempting to fall the memory of “Kabylia’s Spring 1980, 1981”, and the “Bloody Spring of 2001″ into Oblivion”, by forcibly banning the commemoration of these historical events in Kabylia, two major demonstrations, initiated by MAK–Kabylia Self-determination Movement–were held today in the diaspora to commemorate these tragedies which Kabylia has endured from the Algerian racist regime.
One took place in Paris, in France. Kabylia people marched from la Nation plaza to la Bastille; the other, in Montréal, Canada, from Émilie Gamlin to Amnesty’s International office.
During these rallies participants and marchers brandished proudly Kabylia’s flags and chanted slogans, namely: “free Kabylia’s detainees”, “free hostages”, “free Kabylia”, “Algerian’s regime assassin”, “Algeria’s regime terrorist”, “for an independent Kabylia”, “no oblivion”…

These events were marked by a large participation, however, the amazing fact was the participation of the Kabylian’s youth who joined the commemoration, and this means values of struggle and resilience were transmitted to the new generation who will certainly pursue the fight for an independent Kabylia.
During his speech in Paris, Kabylia’s Self-determination President, Mr. Frehat Mehenni, made a paramount announcement by confirming that “the unilateral independence of Kabylia” will be made this year, in 2025.
In addition to these demonstrations, different gatherings were held in the USA, on April 19th, a gathering took place in New York City, and on April 20th, two gatherings followed. The first in Philadelphia and the second in San Francisco.

In solidarity with Kabylians, Moroccan people marched to commemorate the “20th April” for the first time. One demonstration took place in Marrakech, in a peaceful condition, another in the Rif region but was repressed.
