(Tel Aviv)–While the death toll has risen approximately to over 3000 dead in Iran due to the crackdown on protests by the Mullah’s authoritarian regime, a historical moment occurred today, January 14th, 2025 in the state of Israel, precisely at the Knesset ( Israeli parliament ) after a month of Kabylia’s declaration of independence.
Kabylia Tv surprisingly podcasted videos from the Knesset, in which Kabylia became the main focus of the Israeli’s members of the parliament for the first time in history, and that is a new milestone that was reached by the Kabylian diplomacy and leadership after being welcomed last year at the UK and France parliament. And, earlier, in the Canadian parliament, on June 14th, 2022.
Indeed, at the parliament session, some members took favorable stances towards Kabylia, particularly to support the “Kabylia Declaration of Independence ”. In his speech Yitzhak Kreuser congratulated the President Ferhat Mehenni and the Kabylian people for its independence, and highlighted the support of the Israeli state to Kabylia, and added that Algeria is adopting a hostile attitude in international forums towards Israel, thus a serious support to Kabylia is part of Israel security to weaken an antagonist state. Subsequently, at the end of his intervention, he requested an immediate debate at the foreign affair commission and defense to examine the political and security consequences of recognizing the Federal Republic of Kabylia.
Dan Illouz also addressed an emotional speech by underscoring the deep ties between Israel and Kabylia – He affirmed,“They are first of all human”, and mentioned Kabylia’s unwavering solidarity with the Israeli people after the massacre of October 7th. He finally, ended his speech by his cultural attachment to Kabylian culture in so far as his lullabying his son Ethan with songs and melodies of Idir –an iconic musical figure of Kabylia.
Meir Cohe, another member, stated, “ Kabylian are not terrorist”. And rebuked France for supporting and encouraging the Algerian regime to oppress the Kabylian people.
Now some Israeli politicians are not reluctant about raising the issue of the independence of Kabylia and its recognition within the Knesset, and giving the geopolitical high stakes of Israel in North Africa and in the Mediterranean Region. Would Israel’s state executive push forward to recognize Kabylia in the same way as it recognized Somaliland since Algeria considers and promotes the Israeli state as a pariah state at the international level ?
If Kabylia is recognized by Israel, it will be a win-win for both states – Kabylia will become a strong and a longstanding ally to Israel, it will defends its interests against hostilities in the Mediterranean Region, and it will develop different partnership with it which will make both states thrive securely, economically, culturally and scientifically.
Furthermore, this recognition will strengthen and broaden the Abrahams Accords that were initiated by President Trump in 2020, even though Kabylia is not an Arab state.
